Job Description:

Reporting to the PCQC Assistant Director, the PCQC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all pre-funding and post-closing PCQC elements meet policies and procedures that are set forth by the company and our clients. The PCQC Manager will provide ongoing reports and guidance to the PCQC team associates. May performs quality control reviews on conventional and government loan production in accordance with the requirements of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Housing and Urban Development, the Veterans Administration, the USDA, and private investors.

Key Responsibility Areas

    • Manages the employees on the PCQC team.
    • Ensures that PFQC (Pre-Funding Quality Control) audits are completed as per client requirements and company policy, including identified risk characteristics.
    • Ensures that PCQC (Post-Closing Quality Control) audits are completed as per client requirements and company policy.
    • Ensures that all audits are completed within client and company timeframes.
    • Ensure that all audit defined as Import of loans for audit working with reverification team and monitoring files through final reverification completion of files completed within the 90 day cycle prescribed in our SOW
    • Acts as a senior auditor as needed.
    • Partners with the Assistant Director to respond examinations by a regulator, clients, investor or other counter-party. Assist the Assistant Director with elements of the examination, as needed.
    • Point of contact for PCQC clients. Ensures final findings, reports and documentations are complete and accurate.
    • Provides interim QC reports to operations team for their responses. Ensures management responses are completed within deadlines, are accurate and appropriate.
    • Partner with the Assistant Director to produce the monthly PCQC reports. Provide analysis of the PCQC findings, both current month and trending.
    • Creates tracking logs for all audits.
    • Executes various compliance projects as needed.
    • Collaborates with various Business Units to develop best practices and guidelines needed to maintain high PCQC standards.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must Have

    • In-depth knowledge of Company’s QC systems (typically learned on the job)
    • Supervisory/management experience.
    • Knowledge of origination underwriting and quality control requirements for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD / FHA, VA and USDA including a proven ability to apply these requirements to business practices and systems.
    • Knowledge of federal and state compliance laws and regulations including a proven ability to apply these requirements to business practices and systems. Examples: TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, and HMDA, points and fees, watch lists, etc.
    • Strong working knowledge of mortgage business operations procedures for loan origination. Knowledge of mortgage servicing operations a plus.
    • Highly motivated, self-directed, proactive, self-disciplined and team-oriented.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and critical thinking skills.
    • Basic knowledge of internal workflows and procedures specific to the department, and organizations infrastructure (typically learned on the job).
    • Basic/advanced knowledge of mortgage documents, formats, and procedures guidelines, for the USA
    • Command of the English language (both verbal and written), to include proper grammar and punctuation.
    • Basic math aptitude, and cognitive of Company’s budgeted guidelines
    • Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook), internet research; and specialized in-house software: Recording, and Inteledoc Direct (typically learned on the job).
    • Must have High School Diploma or GED.


    • Generally, a minimum of 10 years underwriting experience in the mortgage industry is a must.
    • 5+ years of residential mortgage banking underwriting and / or loan origination auditing or examination experience in a management role.
    • Strong written communication skills.
    • Direct Endorsement Certificate is a plus.
    • Compliance experience is highly preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills are a must.
